iMovie Update Fixes QuickTime Stability Problem

Good news for those who have been experiencing problems with iMovie lately. Apple has released an updated iMovie 9.0.8 for Mac on Wednesday with a fix that improves stability when using third-party QuickTime plug-ins. Some users were experiencing problems with iMovie where the application would crash on launch when plug-ins that add compatibility for video and audio formats aren’t included with QuickTime.

Thanks to the recent update, this shouldn’t happen anymore. iMovie 9.0.8 requires OS X Lion 10.7.4 or higher, and uses 1.08GB of space. The update for iMovie is available through Software Update, the Mac App Store, and as a downloadable installer from the Apple Support Website.
