Apple Announces A New AirPort Extreme With 802.11ac Networking

Apple has announced a new AirPort Extreme at the WWDC 2013 keynote. This new Wi-Fi iteration of the AirPort Extreme brings 802.11ac connectivity to the router. This router has an internal bay that allows for 2TB and 3TB hard-drives that can be used for Time Machine backups. The router has a “beamforming antenna array” that allows more power to go to select 802.11ac devices like the new MacBook Air.

The new AirPort Extreme has also been given a totally new design. This design looks a lot like the the Lytro Camera as it features a long, cube-ish design.
