Verizon spokesman says no iPhone

It’s going to Verizon; it’s not going to Verizon; it’s going to Verizon; it’s not going to Verizon. If this sounds a bit like a mean-spirited game of “he loves mehe loves me not,” then you’re probably not alone. Heck, even I’ve been sucked into the merry-go-round that this has become.

Evidence for a Verizon phone has been pretty rampant over the last six months, but then again, it could just be a case of seeing what we’re looking for. For instance, AT&T just increased their early termination fees, and then they lowered the prices of their data plans and data caps for mobile devices. If that doesn’t sound like a company bracing for competition, we don’t know what does. Maybe that’s the real point we’re trying to make here, we have no idea what’s going on with Apple and Verizon, and neither does anyone else.

Think you have an inside scoop? Have you seen this video (below) with a Verizon spokesman? He says that “[Verizon has] no plans to carry the iPhone in the immediate future.” That is about as blunt as a spokesperson can get these days. What he didn’t mention was whether or not Verizon would be getting the iPad.

So what are we at now, he loves me or he loves me not?

It doesn’t get any clearer than this interview
