T-Mobile is tired of being the last person invited to the party. The company has just announced that it’s moving ahead with its network evolution plan. The network evolution will directly affect iPhone users who have jailbroken their phones and unlocked their devices to work on the T-Mobile network, which often results in poor reception and even poorer data rates.
We should point out that Apple’s iPhone is, in fact, compatible with the HSPA+ network on the 1900 MHz band. So, while T-Mobile won’t be able to offer cheap iPhones to its users like AT&T and Verizon since they don’t have a deal with Apple, the company will be able to provide support for the phone on its network. iPhone users wishing to make the switch to T-Mobile will have to either unlock their phones or purchase unlocked handsets directly from Apple.
If you’re a fan of T-Mobile, there’s still hope for decent iPhone access. Thank goodness.
