Rdio Gets New Update, Brings New Views And UI Improvements

Rdio, the popular music-streaming service, got an update recently that brings brand new album and playlist views to the iPhone. A number of improvements have also been made to the app’s user interface. Now you can see large album art, check out what your friends are listening to and more.

Album art now takes up more than half of the display on the iPhone. You can also tap and hold and album to add it to a collection or a playlist, sync it, or play it at a later time. The playlist view’s new look is a smaller change that makes it look more organized and less cluttered.

Rdio’s update also brings some of the social features from its Web and desktop app versions. You can now see which albums your friends are listening to in the list view.

If you don’t already have Rdio, you can sign up for $9.99 a month for mobile access. Downloading the app is free though, and you can get it from the App Store now. You can also access a free trial before you decide you want to spend the money on the service.
