Microsoft holds a funeral for the iPhone

So Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, thought it’d be appropriate to hold a funeral for the iPhone. It’s a great way to rally the troops, if you know, the iPhone was actually dead, or if they had a competitor shipped, but they don’t, unless you count the Kin.

Is this the new Michael Dell moment? Will this top the Dell founder’s comments from back in 1997, when he was asked about Steve Jobs’ return to Apple: “What would I do? I’d shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders.” That quote has lived on for thirteen long years, and Jobs has probably been laughing this whole time, as Dell has stumbled time and time again.

Will we be looking at this photo as prophetic, or a giant farce in 13 years? I bet you know what we think without us having to tell you, but we’d love to know what you think.
