Today on stage, Tim Cook unveiled that iOS 5.1, which has been in beta for many months now, will ship today.

Tim Cook:

We thought it might be fun to let you listen to Siri in other parts of the world, and today we’re bringing Siri to Japan.

Siri in Japanese is a part of iOS 5.1. It’s available today. And we’re rolling it out in Japan over the next few weeks.

Included with this release is Siri for Japan. Now our favorite Asian island can be told that Siri is offline! We kid because we love, Apple. Siri is great technology, and we can’t wait for it to come out of beta.

Also of note, iCloud will now support movies. You can now stream that blockbuster from anywhere just like you can stream your TV shows. Backing up your iTunes files doesn’t matter anymore now that we have iCloud doing our heavy lifting.
