Yes, that’s an Instagram cake, cookie, or whatever. Why? Today at the LeWeb Conference 2011, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom announced that the startup had hit 15 million users. That’s right. In under a year and a half, the company is now on the homescreen of about 1 in 10 iPhones. When you think about a fast growing company, Instagram would suffice as the definition.
For a startup that just announced breaking 10 million users a little over two months ago, this is a big jump. In fact, Systrom says that there was an additional 2 million sign-ups in November alone. This small startup with a staff of only 10 people is definitely doing big things – fast. To add to the glory, Instagram has two staff members working on an Android app.
