Heading to SXSW? Make sure you grab Lonely Planet’s Austin Guide.

Another year has come and gone, and instead of waiting in line for all the exclusive parties at SXSW with the rest of you, we’ll be at home, sulking in front of our computer screens, while you’re out enjoying the Austin night life. It’s alright though—someone’s got to cover the news for you, right?

Since most of you are probably in the middle of packing and getting ready for your trip to Austin, you might want to take a moment and add another app to your iPhone before you hit up the tarmac. Lonely Planet has lowered the price of their Austin travel guide application to the sweet-spot price of FREE. The price won’t last, and they plan on upping the application to $5.99 on March 15, at 5PM EST. So, do yourself a favor, and download the app for free now while you still can.

The application does a great job of filling you in on hotspots around the city. You can get everything from restaurant recommendations to hotel suggestions. But be warned—if you’re looking for a place to stay, you might already be out of luck. Geeks don’t book hotels at the last minute.
