Flash gets an unofficial proof of concept on the iOS via Jailbreak

CrunchGear is reporting that well known Jailbreakers are running a proof of concept snippet of Flash on a Jailbroken iPod Touch. If you’d like to see all of the nitty gritty, you can check out the embedded YouTube video below.

Do not misconstrue this as “OMG FLASH ON THE IPHONE.” This is merely a video showing that it is technically possible. The quality is clearly lacking, and it is by no means a usable hack for any sane human being.

I’m all for nerds dicking around with devices just to have something to do. For example, I’m fine with someone creating a Hackintosh to see if they can make it work. That said, I worry that non-savvy folks will see the reports, and begin a game of telephone that ends in “Did you hear that Apple put Flash on the iPhone, and it sucks?” I believe it is my responsibility to make it clear exactly what this is.
