Camouflaj Aims To Make A Full-Fledged Console Game For iOS With Republique

We’re seeing a ton of games being funded on Kickstarter. For the most part, these games are designed for the desktop, and mobile ports are promised if certain funding goals are achieved. That’s nice, but what about a game that is designed to provide a full-fledged console gaming experience on iOS devices from the ground up? Republique is here to save the day.

Industry vets from games like Metal Gear Solid, Halo, and F.E.A.R. are joining up at Camouflaj to make a sleath-y survival horror game with strong 1984 overtones. Best of all, it is a high production quality console-style game designed for your iPad and iPhone.

To make this happen, you’re going to need to make your pledge on Kickstarter in the next 30 days. The minimum budget is set at $500,000 USD, and over $30,000 has already been pledged. To get your copy of the game, you’ll need to pony up $10 USD, but other reward tiers are available. $25 will get you the game and soundtrack while $50 will get you a sweet physical companion book to go along with the game. If this sounds great to you, what are you waiting for? Go pledge now.

While iPhone docks and fancy styluses are neat, and I’m glad that Kickstarter can make those happen, this is its strong suit. Apps, games, movies, and music can be very expensive to make, and this upfront funding can make the best content in all areas possible. It is an incredibly exciting time.
