Apple is finally getting iAds onto the iPad and iPad 2

Man, we almost forgot about iAds here at Macgasm. What seemed like a super-awesome-fantastic idea when they were announced has actually turned into a slow trickle of ads. Apple has finally brought iAds to the iPad with an ad from Unilever, who also just happens to be the maker of Dove Men+Care products.

According to CNET reporter Jim Dalrymple – who is also the founder of The Loop – Apple plans on bringing other iAds to the iPad and iPad 2 in the near future. This particular advertisement from Dove is the first iAd to make an appearance on the iPad, which in our opinion is long overdue at this point.

The new iAd will be heavily focused on basketball, and feature a series of basketball star appearances over the next couple of weeks, just in time for the NCAA March Madness extravaganza that’s going on right now.

But now I have a question. When was the last time you actually laid eyes on an iAd? I can’t even remember the last time one popped up on my screen.
