Apple Already Modifying iOS 7 App Icons

The first beta version of iOS 7 was unveiled at WWDC on Monday, and it looks like Apple is already making some changes to the new software before its official release this fall. On Apple’s official iOS 7 website, the company has made a few changes to some of the app icons, including Weather, Passbook, and Reminders.

The icon with the biggest changes is the Weather app. Instead of a sun partially hidden by a cloud, the new icon displayed on Apple’s website shows a blue icon with the current temperature. Both the Passbook and Reminders app icons have slight changes, with the differences mostly concerning the colors.

A while back Phil Schiller tweeted that showing live weather on the iOS home screen would be a waste of battery, but it looks like Apple might have found a solution for that problem. Being able to quickly check the day’s weather is definitely a bonus feature to an already impressive looking new weather app. It’ll be interesting to see what other changes Apple might have in mind for the new software.
