Sunday Times iPad app now available on the App Store

The digital newspaper market is wide open. A lot of heavy hitters have been taking their best swings at the medium, but frankly, they all leave a little something to be desired. Sunday Times has just thrown its hat into the ring with a new iPad application. It’s currently available on the App Store for free.

The application brings all twelve sections of the Sunday Times to the iPad, as well as a new interactive TV guide. You can download sections of the paper one by one, instead of downloading the entire paper at once. My bandwidth is pretty grateful for that.

They’ve also made a great decision in letting you download a free trial issue so that you can familiarize yourself with the content before you signup for a subscription. You can also get the updates for free with a 7-day newspaper subscription (25% savings), or free with the Sunday Times’ digital package (includes The Times iPad edition and access to both websites), or purchase individual editions through the App Store.
