Living off of an iPad

I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is… More iPad. I’ve been thinking about the iPad ever since I first played with one in an Apple Store. It is a beautiful device that has a lot to offer to me. The form factor alone is enough to make my change purse spring open. That said, I want the iPad to be a full time thing. She’s not just some floozy I see on the side. I want to marry this girl… *AHEM* … So to speak.

I’ve seriously been considering getting a 64 GB Wifi-Only iPad with a Keyboard Dock. That truly is a full-fledged computer right there. Really, it’s nearly everything I need on a day-to-day basis. When VoodooPad comes out for the iPad, I don’t know if I’ll ever need to use a traditional computer again. I’m taking this prospect very seriously.

Why, you might ask, am I considering switching away from a traditional computer for my workhorse? The sheer minimalism of an iPad with a keyboard is very moving. I have fallen in love with the idea of only really using one device no matter what situation I am in. If I’m in a business meeting, in a subway, or writing an article, the iPad fits my needs extremely well. It is calling my name.

I want to know what you all think. Am I delusional, or is the iPad the perfect computer? Do you think I’ll miss using Mac OS X? Sound off in the comments, and maybe you can help me decide if I want to jump in head first into the world of iPad.
