People familiar with the matter have struck again. This time, they’ve reared their heads and whispered to the Wall Street Journal that the iPad 2 is already in production. According to the WSJ, the device will be thinner, lighter, and faster. I know that kind of sounds like a verse from that Daft Punk song, but it’s their words and not ours.
Also in the production iPad 2, a dual camera and a 1024×768 display. The iPad 2 will also be shipping from Verizon and AT&T, but no other carriers in the US. There’s no mention if the device will be US exclusive or not.
These rumors have me wondering if we’re going to see more of a specification “bump” than we are a brand new iPad. Think more like the recent iPod touch update than an iPhone 4 update. Just a thought, and based on nothing but conjecture.
