Gorillaz to disprove the “consumption-only” claims against iPad

It seems like every couple of weeks we hear a new technology pundit wax philosophical about tablets and how they’re only for consumption. Despite these rage-inducing comments, most iPad users smile and carry on with their day. Clearly anyone who has used an iPad knows that it’s easy to “create” things with it.

Turns out, Damon Albarn, of Blur and Gorillaz fame, has not only fell in love with his iPad, but he’s used it to, get this, create his next Gorillaz album. According to quotes on NME, Albarn has put the consumption argument to rest: “I’ve made [this album] on an iPad… I fell in love with my iPad as soon as I got it, so I’ve made a completely different kind of record.” The iPad album may be available before Christmas, should Albarn have his way.

Maybe Jobs will put in a call to get the Gorillaz for their traditional January event. Maybe it would shut a couple of pundits up. Dare to dream.

If you haven’t heard anything by the Gorillaz, this Stylo video is pretty fun.
