A DIY for iPad 1 owners who want some Smart Cover action


Sometimes, a little do-it-yourself work can make not upgrading a product feel more tolerable.

It seems that Tumblr user “therussiansusedapencil” is a firm believer in this philosophy, as they have written up a little DIY post on how to affix magnets to the side of the original iPad in order to gain compatibility with Apple’s new Smart Covers.

The trick involves some superglue, a little measuring and the knowledge that without the cover on, people may ask questions about your iPad.
