Apple might ship iPad 2 immediately after event on Wednesday

The worst thing about Apple events isn’t the announcements themselves, obviously, it’s the waiting. A lot of people are ready to drop their credit card details immediately to get their hands on the latest and greatest out of Apple, but sometimes they don’t get the chance. iOS devices haven’t really been synonymous with immediate shipments over the years, lately Apple’s been making announcements then taking pre-orders. Rumors today suggest that Apple may be ready to ship the iPad 2 immediately after the announcement on Wednesday.

With the original iPad release there were lengthy shipping delays, a couple of weeks here and a couple more delays there. Apple obviously realizes that they have a huge demand for the iPad this time around, unlike last time, so procuring an adequate stockpile of the iPad 2 is something they’ve taken care of at this point, hopefully. According to AppleInsider, “Apple is preparing several of its operating segments to perform functions during the second half of next week that are representative of nothing short of a large scale, consumer-oriented product roll out (not just an announcement).”

Hopefully it’s true. I’m with the rest of you, ready to purchase the iPad 2, should it be a decent update. Announcing the iPad 2 without being able to ship it would be a huge blunder by Apple, considering consumer expectations this time around.
