Analyst predicts iPad Pro this quarter

Reports of a new iPad version releasing this quarter continue to surface, as an analyst from Rodman & Renshaw adds more fuel to the fire. According to Ashok Kumar, a new SKU has entered production at Hon Hai, and the device will be available alongside the current iPad 2, but this time the device will focus on “the publishing vertical and some other select segments.”

The rumor is cryptic, and the source is none other than our trusty friend “supply chain check,” so we’re not exactly sure where to file this one.

If you’re skeptical, you’re not alone. Until someone actually brings some concrete evidence to the table regarding the iPad 3 (or iPad Pro), it’s going to be hard to determine if the device is real or a pipe dream.

At this point we’re on the fence. A lot of analysts are pointing towards an iPad Pro this year, but none at this point have used solid sources. In the past some have made some correct predictions, while others have completely missed the boat (full-fledged Apple Television anyone).

Analysts and supply-chain checks haven’t exactly been spot on in the past, so take this one for what it’s worth.
