GTA Trilogy available for OS X

Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are now available on the Mac. Published by Rockstar Games, the Grand Theft Auto series of games has been around since 1997. Grand Theft Auto III was the first in the series to be realized in 3D, and it was groundbreaking for its open world and storyline when it was released in 2001.

The Grand Theft Auto series has had its share of controversy, mostly levelled at its violent and sexual content. It does have an M rating, so it’s not for the kiddies, folks. TransGaming did the port of these games, using their Cider Portability Engine, and the titles are available at TransGaming’s GameTreeMac.com site exclusively for 30 days, and then they will be released to retail, priced at $14.99 USD each.

“The Grand Theft Auto series has been one of the most highly demanded titles by the Mac community. The availability of this incredible franchise on the Mac underscores TransGaming’s role in transforming the overall Mac gaming market,” said Vikas Gupta, President & CEO of TransGaming, in a press release. “These games will be widely available and will be a great catalyst to the increasing popularity of gaming on the Mac.”
