Evernote quietly acquiring small startups to expand app platform

Over the last year, Evernote has been quietly acquiring small startups to help build the company’s app platform, Evernote Trunk. On top of the well-publicized Skitch acquisition from this summer, Evernote also acquired the companies Notable Meals (which became the Evernote app Food), Readable (which became Clearly) and a company called Minds Momentum, which Evernote CEO Phil Libin recently let slip will soon become an Evernote to-do app.

Prior to the acquisition, Minds Momentum created Egretlist, an iPhone to-do app that synced with Evernote, which in turn let you do all sorts of cool things like share lists and create lists from web-clippings.

As someone who loves Evernote almost as much as she loves a good t0-do app (I’m currently using Wunderlist full steam ahead), the thought of combining these two loves makes me a little weak in the knees.
