Samsung poaches child actor from Apple ad

Can you hear that? That’s Samsung sticking its tongue out directly at Apple. As you can see above, Apple created an iPhone 4S ad featuring a very distinct looking little girl. Samsung, in an advertisement for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE tablet, has used the very same girl. It is very, very unlikely that Samsung just happened to cast the same little girl in their commercial. One might even say that they are attempting to copy the exact look and feel of Apple. In fact, that’s what Samsung has been known for lately.

Apple and Samsung have been battling it out in courts all over the world because Apple has repeatedly accused them of ripping off the iconic design of the iProducts. In turn, Samsung has returned their volley with a strong “Nuh-uh,” and a “Well, we own patents too, mister.”

If this was the only case of Samsung appearing to copy Apple, I wouldn’t think too much of it. Sadly, that’s just not the case. Just take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S II. Does it look like any phone you’ve seen before? Of course it does. Why hire industrial designers when Apple has done the work for you? It’s just good math.

This might not mean much, but let’s go ahead and file this under “More Evidence that Samsung Cmd+Cs from Apple and then Cmd+Vs all the way to the bank.”
