First panels of Steve Jobs comic book emerge; no super powers shown

In case you’ve gotten tired waiting for iSteve: The Book of Jobs, Jobs’ official biography coming out next year, take heart! There’s gonna be a comic book! Written by CW Cooke, drawn by Chris Schmidt, with cover art by Joe Phillips, the comic book will be released in August for $3.99. PCWorld obtained some preview samples of the comic, although be advised that they represent a work in progress. The panels have yet to be colored and lack any speech bubbles.

Published by Bluewater, which has also published biography comics of other tech industry people like Mark Zuckerberg, the comic aims to explore all sides of Jobs’ personality. “[Jobs has] been called an innovator, risk-taker, a visionary and a genius. He’s also been called unscrupulous, an egomaniac and a corporate pirate. Both sides of this complex personality are examined,” according to Bluewater’s website.

Steve Jobs and biographies haven’t always gotten along so well. In 2005 when the unauthorized biography iCon: Steve Jobs was published by John Wiley & Sons, Jobs reportedly pulled ALL of the publishers’ books from the Apple retail store shelves.

This comic looks pretty cool, though. I imagine it will sell out rather quickly, given the Zuckerberg comic was a sell out.

Will you pick this up? Do you think it will be a collector’s item? Let us know what you think!
