Need Something Simpler Than 1Password? Check Out PassLocker

1Password is pretty much the de facto password manager for most OS X users. I use it. You probably use it. The vast majority of tech bloggers use it. Sometimes, however, it’s nice to try out other alternatives. PassLocker ($4.99) is probably the simplest password generating and management application for your Mac.

All you have to do is set up a four digit pin, and start adding passwords to the application (or generate them). The application sits up in your menubar for easy access, and you’re pretty much two clicks away from setting up, or looking up your passwords.

If you want to take advantage of the clipboard features you’ll have to use Safari. We’re not entirely sure why the application doesn’t work fully in Chrome (or Firefox, but who uses that these days?). It doesn’t really make much sense, but you can still use the application, so don’t fret.

Of course, it doesn’t end there either. The application is also available for iOS ($1.99) and syncs over iCloud so that you can get access to your passwords while you’re on the iPad and iPhone.

It’s worth checking out, especially if you think 1Password may be a little too much application for your needs.
