MobileMe Storage Expiry Date Extended Three More Months

MobileMe customers now get to keep the complimentary 20 GB of iCloud storage until September 30th, 2012. Apple has quietly updated its Mobile Me transition page to extend the MobileMe storage plan for another three months while customers migrate to iCloud, or remove their files from Apple’s system:

MobileMe members with 20GB of purchased storage receive a complimentary iCloud storage upgrade of 20GB, and accounts with additional purchased storage (40GB to 60GB) receive a complimentary upgrade of 50GB after moving to iCloud. These free upgrades are good through September 30th, 2012. After that date, you can continue the upgrade at the regular price or let it expire and use the free 5GB plan.

If you have files on your iDisk account, and you don’t plan on upgrading for extra iCloud storage, you need to back up your files before September 30th. Apple currently gives all users a complimentary 5GB of storage for photos, files, and documents, but the company also offers additional storage options for those needing more space: 10 GB of additional space will cost $20.00/year, 20 GB of additional space will cost $40.00/year, and an additional 50 GB of storage will cost $100/year.

Don’t wait until September to get your storage stuff straightened out. Go get it fixed up right now. The last thing you want is to have your files disappear because you accidentally missed the deadline.
