MacBook Air may provide Apple $3.0B-per-year growth

It is no secret that the current generation MacBook Air has been a huge hit.

But it may be a colossal hit.

J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Moskowitz believes that the MacBook Air could bring in $3.0 billion annually. Moskowitz believes sales may reach 700,000 units over the next 12-18 months.

The MacBook Air is expected to see a revision sometime this summer, bringing Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt connectivity to the notebooks.

The analyst also said the MacBook Air acts as a “a quasi-tablet for productivity.” Its portability, great battery life and regular keyboard are big attractions, especially to those who travel.
