In iOS 5, users will be able to log in to their Twitter accounts system-wide. Doing so will allow them to upload photos to the social media network from the Camera and Photos app, and tweet directly from Maps, Safari and more.
Apple didn’t go into details about checking @-replies or DM’s, so it is assumed that applications will still be needed for those parts of the service.
