First Benchmark Is In, iPhone 5 Scores Big

Grab your salt lick. According to Primate Lab’s Geekbench results, the iPhone 5 has scored a 1601 in their benchmark system, placing the phone higher than most of the Android phones on the market today. Here’s the problem though: the iPhone 5 is yet to ship, so unless one of the chosen ones (Gruber, Dalrymple, Mossberg, et al) decided to run a Geekbench test, there’s a good possibility that this is fake.

But, if you’re into benchmarking, and you want to check out the details, you can hit up the Geekbench site. The good news is that once the iPhone 5 starts finding its way into homes, these numbers will likely change.
