Apple Hits Pay Dirt With 48 New Patents

We try to keep the patent posts to a minimum around here since the majority of them are crap, but Apple’s hit a deep fly ball today in the patent department. Whether or not any of these patents will push that ball out of the park remains to be seen (probably not though), but there are a few interesting ones to pass along (Facial Recognition, Radial Menus).

Oh, Samsung was also awarded a patent for the “comfort zone” on your phone. It’s the area on your phone you can naturally reach on the screen with your thumb without moving your hand around. I’d love to know what kind of giant was testing the “comfort zone” on the Galaxy Note.

Frankly put, I just wanted to make fun of the Samsung patent in this post.
