Lightroom Comes To The iPad

Surprise, Adobe out maneuvers Apple. Lightroom for iOS is now alive and well on the App Store. The app, while not a full-fledged Lightroom replacement, is a great companion applications for anyone who’s using Lightroom on their Mac and owns an iPad.

Photographers can now sync images between their devices (iPad and Mac) and edit directly on the iPad (including RAW photos). Any changes made on the iPad will immediately sync with Lightroom 5 on the desktop.

The app also syncs metadata immediately.

The application is free, but you will need Lightroom 5, and a Creative Cloud plan before you can use it. You’ll also need to be running iOS 7 on your iPad. You can get it on the App Store.

If you want to get a quick first look at the application, we recommend checking out Jeff Carlson’s article over on Macworld. Carlson knows Lightroom way more intimately than us. It’s a worthwhile read.
