Rdio Brings Its Music Streaming Service To Google Chromecast

If you’re an Rdio user and a Chromecast owner, you can now use the two technologies together.

Rdio today released official support for Google’s Chromecast streaming stick, bringing the service’s catalog of over 20 million songs right over to your TV.

Here’s a statement from Rdio in an official company blog post:

We are very excited about this awesome new way to play Rdio at home and unleash your favorite music, check out new releases, and stream an endless variety of Stations from anywhere in the house right to your TV with Chromecast’s bold new technology. It’s not only easy, but with a starting price of $35 Chromecast is also affordable.

If you don’t have a Google Chromecast, you can pick one up here from Amazon. If you aren’t already an Rdio user, you can sign-up now and use Rdio Free to access music “Stations” or you can pay subscribe to the $9.99/month Rdio Unlimited service that gives you unrestricted access to Rdio’s entire catalog. You can also opt for a free 14 day trial before you start to pay.

To get Rdio running on your Chromecast, just press the “cast” icon located on Rdio’s iOS, Android or Web apps.
