Wojciech Siudzinski, an iOS developer, has recently released Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe into the App Store: a new take on the classic tic-tac-toe paper game. The game essentially takes standard Tic-Tac-Toe and extends it out onto nine different game boards. In order to win the game, one player has to win three game boards in a row, not just one like in a standard tic-tac-toe paper game.
As of now, the Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe iOS app allows users to challenge each other over Game Center, though an AI player is coming in the v1.1 release for single-player fun. If the friend you want to play with doesn’t own an iOS device, Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe also has a “hot seat” mode that lets two players play on one iOS device.
Not only is Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe a fun game, it’s designed extremely well. The interface is minimal and offers beautiful green and white coloring with sleek lines and buttons.
Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe will run you $1.99 on the App Store. If you’re not sure if you want to spend two bucks on the app, just draw out the board on a sheet of scratch paper, grab a friend, and play it analog. If you enjoy it, Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe will give you hours of multiplayer enjoyment.
