Temple Run Downloaded More Than 2.5 Million Times On Christmas

Temple Run Hits 100 Million Downloads, Keeps On Running

Imangi Studios, the developers of the popular iOS game Temple Run, has just released numbers for Christmas Day sales. Between sales on Apple’s App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore, Temple Run received 2.5 million downloads on Christmas Day alone. The App Store and Google Play received roughly 1 million downloads apiece, while the Amazon Appstore hosted 500,000 downloads.

If you haven’t played the game yet, Temple Run is an Indiana Jones style game in which you have to run away from a temple infested with demonic monkeys that chase you. The game requires that you avoid getting eaten by the monkeys by jumping over obstacles, turning around corners and sliding under trees.

Earlier this year, the game’s immense popularity saw Temple Run hit the top of both the free and top grossing apps  listing on the App Store. At the time, Temple Run had 40 million downloads with 7 million daily users.

If you don’t have Temple Run yet, you can download it for free via the App Store.
