iTunes 11.2 Update Hides /Users Folder For Some, Makes Everyone Blame OS X 10.9.3

Has your /Users folder gone missing since you installed Apple’s latest round of OS X software updates? You’re not alone. Macworld points out that some OS X users are running into this problem, and has published a workaround for this glitch. The workaround involves switching off Find My Mac, then running a Terminal script.

Initially, this glitch appeared to be a problem with the OS X 10.9.3 update, but it’s apparently caused by an interplay between iTunes 11.2 and Find My Mac, as Dave Hamilton at The Mac Observer figured out.

(Unfortunately, this additional information spoiled my original headline idea: “OS X Users Have 10.9.3 Problems, and A Hidden /Users Folder Is One.”)

Nick spends way too much time in front of a computer, so he figures he may as well write about it. He's previously written for IDG's PCWorld and TechHive.
