Logitech Alert Security Camera Now Supports Mac OS X

In a press release today, Logitech introduced Mac OS X support for the Logitech Alert Security Camera System. Previously only available for Android, Blackberry, iOS and Windows users, Logitech is changing that with an OS X version of its Alert Commander app.

The Logitech Alert Commander for Mac OS X turns your Mac computer into a video security command center, letting you configure, control, and view your Logitech Alert digital video security system right from your Mac, a feature that is already available on Windows-based computers.

The software lets you configure and view video from six cameras at once. You can easily control all of the camera options, including pan, tilt, zoom, motion zones, alerts, and recording. The controls extend to 16 motion-sensitive zones, digital zoom, backups, and desktop notifications for when an intruder enters the area.

The app itself is a free Mac App Store download and supports Mac OS 10.6.8 and higher. There’s also a companion app for the iPhone and iPad so that you can control your cameras even when you’re not at home.
