Some Lightning To Micro USB Adapters Arriving DOA?

The Lightning to Micro USB adapter has just recently started to hit the doorsteps of those who ordered the adapter last week when it was released in the United States. While the adapter seems like a great idea to those who frequently use both Micro USB and Apple Lightning adapters, some are finding the adapter to be completely useless. Why? Some users are reporting that the adapter is showing up dead on arrival. The faulty adapters are apparently unable to sync or charge iPhones, iPods or iPads.

Mactrast has confirmed this on its own Lightning to Micro USB adapter as it reportedly refuses to charge the site’s iPhone 5, fourth-generation iPad or iPad mini.

Since this issue is so widespread, I wonder if it’s actually a firmware issue. We’ll let you know if/when Apple begins to recall these adapters.
