Apple Closing 35-50 Stores Due To Hurricane Sandy

As everyone else on the eastern seaboard starts their hurricane preparation, Apple’s also in the process of boarding up the windows, and preparing for hurricane Sandy. Reports have Apple closing around 35 stores in the hurricane landfall areas and another 15 stores just outside of the hurricane’s path across the northeastern US and Atlantic Canada.

Some stores have already closed their doors, while others have begun stacking sandbags outside. ifoAppleStore has also pointed out that the company has taken precautionary measures to protect its inventory from the elements, including placing shopping bags over some of the display devices to protect them from water damage.

Here’s a little reminder: make sure you head out and grab some supplies if you’re in the hurricane’s path. Many weather forecasters are predicting that the hurricane could reach pretty far inland and pretty far north at this point.
