Starbucks Bringing Passbook Support To Its App By The End Of The Month

Those who have already updated to iOS 6 now have access to Passbook. But, it didn’t take long to realize that the list of available Passbook supported apps fell a bit short of expectations. Now third-party developers are starting to update their apps to bring Passbook support. Starbucks is one of these developers and the company is planning to update its app to support Passbook by the end of the month, according to its official Twitter account.

Updated to iOS 6? Our Passbook update is coming at the end of this month! 0011101000101001

For those who are still a little unsure about what Passbook actually is, it’s a brand new, built-in app for iOS 6 that acts as a virtual wallet. You can store passes, tickets, gift cards, coupons, vouchers, and airplane tickets all in one virtual place. Some of the apps that already support Passbook in the App Store include Cineplex, Target, and Ticketmaster, and Starbucks will officially be included in this list in the next few weeks.

Passbook isn’t a feature that you have to use, but with more well-known places adding support for it, it’s sure to make it more appealing. And it sure makes for a greener world, with people not needing to print tickets anymore if they’re using Passbook.
