Apple’s Senior VP Of Marketing Phil Schiller Says Apple Has No Plans To Make An iPhone 5 Dock

When the iPhone 5 was first announced at last Wednesday’s keynote event, Apple also announced a few accessories that would be made available, which was welcome news considering the smaller 9-pin dock connector. Some of these accessories include a 30-pin adapter, a USB cable, an HDMI and VGA cable, etc. But one thing that wasn’t mentioned was whether or not Apple was planning to release a new iPhone 5 dock.

In an email sent to 9to5Mac, Apple Senior Vice President of Marketing, Phil Schiller, confirmed to a customer that Apple actually has no plans to make a dock connector for the iPhone 5. His response was, “We do not plan on making a dock for the iPhone 5. Most people who use docks use them with speaker or clock systems.”

Apple has traditionally made an iPhone dock for new iPhone models, but it looks like fans of Apple made iPhone docks will have to rely on third party accessories for an iPhone 5 dock.

At the end of the email he signed off with “Sent from my iPhone 5,” letting everyone know that he’s already using the device that we can’t wait to get our hands on.
