Withings, a well-known manufacturer, has just announced on its blog a new model of bathroom scales, the Wireless Scale WS-30. With this new wireless scale and accompanying Withings Health Companion app, monitoring your weight is easier than ever.
This new scale features a Bluetooth connection for local connectivity to your iPhone via Wi-Fi. All of the initial setup of the scale is done wirelessly without the need for a Mac or PC. Not only does the scale help motivate you while trying to lose weight, but it also looks good with its sleek, white exterior.
So how does the Wireless Scale provide an easier way to track your weight? It creates a seamless weighing process with wireless connectivity and automated data storing. It also lets you set weekly goals and lets you assess the state of your health with just a glance through the Health Companion butterfly. It also keeps you motivated with contextual messages and push notifications. (Check below for a video)
On top of that, the scale instantly recognizes individual users and gives them access to exclusive Withings services so that users can take control of their weight anywhere at any time with the companion app. It also features Withings Position Control technology. This offers visual feedback for users to properly position themselves for high accuracy weighing.
The Withings Health Companion app comes with a lot of features too, like goal setting and coaching services. Weight graphs are generated automatically and are easily accessible at any point.
The WS-30 won’t replace the current WB-S01 model offered by Withings but will instead be a cheaper alternative with additional Bluetooth connectivity. The suggested retail price of the new WS-30 scales will be around $150 and should be available later this month.
