FlightTrack Travel App For iOS Now Has A Free Version

FlightTrack app for iOS was first launched almost four years ago and, since then, has become the top grossing travel app. Today the company behind the app, Mobiata, is releasing its first free version of FlightTrack, called FlightTrack Free, available for both iOS and Android.

FlightTrack Free is not replacing FlightTrack and FlightTrack Pro. Rather, it’s a scaled-down, lighter version of the other apps, with a redesigned interface. It’s much more basic than the paid versions of the app and can only track one flight at a time. Users of FlightTrack Free can also see their baggage claim and gate info, and have a number of language options, including: English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Russian, and Spanish.

FlightTrack Free misses out on a number of features that the paid versions offer, like weather radar or FAA flight delay info, and it can’t sync information with their own calendar or TripIt. The app also lacks built-in support for Seat Guru and push notifications. Essentially, FlightTrack Free is missing out on some of the features that have made FlightTrack the popular travel app that it is.

FlightTrack and FlightTrack Pro have been described as “must have” apps for travelers. It will be interesting to see if the free version is as popular as the paid ones. FlightTrack is available for $4.99 in the App Store while FlightTrack Pro goes for $9.99.

If you’ve been holding off from buying FlightTrack or FlightTrack Pro, then today is your lucky day. FlightTrack Free is now available in the App Store.
