Best Buy Borrows Apple’s Look

Just because Best Buy isn’t doing well doesn’t mean it can’t take a few tips from Apple retail. According to the Wall Street Journal, Best Buy is reportedly revamping their stores with new Geek Squad counters which look more like the Genius Bar at Apple retail stores. Best Buy is also reportedly trying to make the rest of their retail experience more like Apple as well. They are experimenting with new tables and more places to buy products around the store.

All of these revamps can be found at Best Buy’s slimmed down, prototype store which is currently in an experimental phase. Best Buy is hoping to increase sales and decrease “showrooming”. If you’re unaware, showrooming is when customers go to a standard brick and mortar retailer to try out new gadgets, only to order them for a lower price online.
