Minecraft on iOS — Now With Crafting!

Minecraft

A while back, the wildly popular game Minecraft was ported to both the iPad and iPhone in a game called Minecraft Pocket Edition. It was simpler version of the game, but it still allowed Minecraft fans to get their build on. As of today, one of the biggest elements of the game, the titular crafting mechanism, is now available in a free update. Of course, if you have been waiting on this before buying the game, the wait is over. For only $6.99 USD, Minecraft on your phone has never sounded better.

Hilariously, other updates are included with today’s release. “Cows and chickens!” as well as damageable items are now in the iOS version of Minecraft. Dropping items from your selection slots is now accomplished by pressing and holding. Finally, now some resources can only be obtained when you’re using certain tools. No complaining about the increase in complexity! This is what you’ve been waiting for.

Now, we want to see what you’ve been making. Have you been hard at work on a Minecraft Macintosh 128? What about a block-y iPod classic? Show off you work by tweeting us screenshots. Our Twitter handle is @macgasm, and we love seeing how wacky and creative our readers can get. Let’s get to building!
