Bare Bones Software Makes TextWrangler Lionrific

Bare Bones Software has rolled out a major update to TextWrangler today. The significant upgrade now puts the free editor at version 4.0, and it’s pretty Lionrific. Included in this update is Lion features like fullscreen mode and the ability to resize your windows from any edge of the interface. The release does, however, drop PowerPC support, so if you’ve been delaying your upgrade for what must be a decade now, you may want to consider upgrading. We hear the new MacBook Air is pretty great.

That said, TextWrangler 4.0 has a pretty ginormous changelog on its website, so if you’re into skimming through the nitty-gritty changes, you’re going to want to head over there and check out the extensive list.

The update is not available on the Mac App Store yet, but it shouldn’t be too much longer until you’re able to update your Mac App Store version of the software bundle. The download link below will update once the application gets uploaded, so check back for updates.
