New iPads now ship in one to two weeks

After the initial rush of day one pre-orders of the new iPad, the shipping period started to creep up to the two to three week range. As of today, we don’t have to worry about that so much. The new iPads are now shipping in one to two weeks — black or white, Wi-Fi or 4G, and 16/32/64 GB models. Regardless of the build, ordering a new iPad from the online Apple store will get your iPad shipped in two weeks or less.

This is especially interesting because of how incredibly well the new iPad is selling. The first weekend it was available, it sold a whopping three million units. In the past, new iPads had some supply issues early on in their life cycles, but the third time is the charm, it seems. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it many times in the future: Tim Cook knows how to manage supply chains. That means good things for you, and it means great things for Apple.
