iOS 5.1: You can now delete photos from your Photo Stream

Along with Apple’s iPad announcement today came word that iOS 5.1 was being released into the wild immediately. The first thing we checked was whether or not iOS 5.1 gives users the ability to delete photos from their Photo Stream. There have been rumors up until this point that this was coming with 5.1, and we’re here to report that the rumors are in fact true. iOS 5.1 now lets you delete images from your Photo Stream.

To delete images from your Photo Stream:

  1. Open the Photos app
  2. Select your Photo Stream album
  3. Click the share button (the squarish icon with an arrow coming out of it)
  4. Select the photos you want to delete (as many as you want)
  5. Tap the Delete button

The photos you delete will still be available in your Camera Roll, but you can delete those manually as well. Deleting these images from your Photo Stream will also remove the images from your Apple TV screensaver. We’re pretty excited. This means no more iOS screenshots dominating my Apple TV screensaver.
