Students innovate the digital page flip, blow iBooks out of the water

Page flips elicited oohs and ahhs from the crowd when iBooks was released for the iPad. Actually, it still kind of does. However, that doesn’t mean that digital page flips offer the same kind of experience that thumbing through a book does. Students at the KAIST Institute of Information Technology Convergence have taken the Apple API for the page flip and completely revolutionized it.

By swiping and holding, readers can flip through a book quickly and accurately to find key information buried deep in a book or magazine’s pages. If you thought iBooks was revolutionary, you need to check out the KAIST ITC implementation; it’s outright mind-blowing.
