Google Search app updated and redesigned for iPad

Well, this comes at no surprise. Today, Google rolled out an update to their iPad Google Search app. The update brought a redesign to the user interface. However, the coolest part of the entire update is its name – v1.0.0.8117.

So what’s new? Well for one, you can now view snapshots of webpages that you’ve visited in a new carousel view. Also, now you can scroll through results while your selected page loads in a new side-by-side view. My favorite additions are Google Instant, which shows search results as you’re typing, and a new view for your Google apps.

The update also brings some cool UI changes to the iPhone app. Go update now to see the other additions!

Via Google’s app page:

  • See search results and websites side-by-side to browse pages and results
  • Get to the right answer faster with Instant Previews and Google Instant
  • See images full-screen with image browsing
  • New visual UI for search history
  • Easy access to other Google apps
