Starbucks finally brings iPhone payments to Canada

It’s long overdue, but Starbucks has finally brought their My Cards functionality to Canada. As of today, customers can pay with their iPhone or iPod touch at Canadian Starbucks stores just like our friends south of the border.

Starbucks has updated their application to version 2.1 today, and along with the My Cards payment system, users can earn rewards for free drinks, and take advantage of passcode protection. Customers can also check their balances and reload their gift cards from directly within the application.

As someone who’s been known to spend quite a bit of time at Starbucks in the past, I have to say I’m pretty excited about the My Card integration. Cash is overrated.
